Start with the board and syllabus code

This guide focuses on Cambridge IGCSE across Maths, separate sciences, Co-ordinated Sciences and Economics. It is an archive-selection guide, not a ranking of paid question banks or a Maths-only list. If your course is Pearson Edexcel International GCSE, use its board-specific resources instead of downloading a Cambridge paper because the subject name matches.

Write down your board, syllabus code, examination year and route before choosing a website. Mathematics 0580 and Additional Mathematics 0606 are different courses. Biology 0610 is not Co-ordinated Sciences 0654, even though both involve biology. That distinction matters more than the website you use.

Keep the current syllabus nearby. Cambridge warns that historical papers may not reflect the current syllabus. Older questions can still be useful for a retained skill, but an old paper is not a reliable guide to every detail of your upcoming examination.

PastPaperPrep: free whole papers for seven Cambridge courses

PastPaperPrep's whole-paper archive is free without signup. Its Cambridge IGCSE directory separates Mathematics 0580, Additional Mathematics 0606, Biology 0610, Chemistry 0620, Physics 0625, Economics 0455 and Co-ordinated Sciences 0654. Choose the course first, then the year, session and paper/component with its matching official mark scheme.

Use that structure when you want to attempt a complete paper rather than assemble questions one by one. Read the paper's own instructions and identity before starting. Check the available years and components on the course page; a supported subject is not a promise of every historical sitting or the latest unpublished papers.

After marking, move to the matching topical bank if you need more questions on a weak area. That is separate from the free archive: guests get up to 20 matching free questions, and a free account opens the rest of the free selection. Newer bank inventory and custom PDF exports require eligible bank access and applicable allowances.

Cambridge International: the official starting point

Use Cambridge's own subject pages to verify what you should study and how the examination is assessed. Its public Mathematics 0580 past-paper page provides selected question papers, matching mark schemes, an examiner report and specimen papers. It explicitly says this is only a selection; registered Cambridge schools have wider access through the School Support Hub.

Specimen papers and historical papers do different jobs. A specimen illustrates the assessment it was produced for. A historical paper shows what students sat in a particular session. Start with the current syllabus and relevant specimen, then use historical papers for practice without assuming the public official page is an exhaustive archive.

For Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics and Co-ordinated Sciences, look up the exact code on Cambridge's subject directory. Do not carry Maths paper instructions into another subject or use an unofficial archive's summary as a substitute for the syllabus.

PapaCambridge: a broad subject-code archive

PapaCambridge's Cambridge IGCSE directory lists all seven subject codes covered in this guide, alongside many other courses. It separates file categories such as Question Paper, Mark Scheme, Grade Threshold and Examiner Report. That makes it a useful place to look when you need a particular subject folder rather than a teaching platform.

Its yearly past-paper section is labelled free. The Chemistry 0620 page describes free files and distinguishes account conveniences such as favourites and downloading an entire session together. You do not need to mistake a premium or predicted-paper promotion for the ordinary yearly archive.

Always match the actual paper and mark-scheme filenames and cover codes. A directory's update announcement is not proof that every variant, insert and mark scheme is present. If one file is missing, look for that exact component on another source rather than substituting a neighbouring paper.

Physics & Maths Tutor: board-specific paper lists

Physics & Maths Tutor's Biology and Chemistry archive pages separate UK GCSE boards from international CAIE and Edexcel options. Its CAIE Physics Paper 1 page explicitly identifies 0625/0972 and lists question papers and mark schemes. These public paper lists are useful for finding paired files without joining a full revision membership.

Choose the board before the paper number. A Chemistry Paper 1 for one board is not interchangeable with another board's Paper 1. PMT also has a CAIE IGCSE Physics revision page with topic resources, so it can be useful when you need supporting revision as well as a full paper.

Do not read the name Physics & Maths Tutor as a complete subject-coverage guarantee. For Additional Mathematics 0606, Economics 0455 or Co-ordinated Sciences 0654, check the exact current directory rather than assuming the separate-science pages cover your course. Use another archive if the relevant board and code are absent.

Save My Exams and the GCE Guide caveat

Save My Exams is another option for available paper downloads. Its official support says free accounts can download past papers and mark schemes. That does not make its entire notes, model-answer or topic-question library free: the current free-access guide separates Free, Essential and Premium features, and support says some courses have only partial resources.

GCE Guide appears in many older archive recommendations, but we are not recommending its historical paper URL here. In our 14 October 2026 check, the Cambridge IGCSE archive address redirected away from an education archive to an unrelated site. This is an observation about the checked address, not a claim about every similarly named site.

If an old bookmark unexpectedly redirects, stop and use another verified source. Do not enter school credentials, pay or install anything merely to retrieve a supposedly free paper. There is no need to follow a questionable redirect when the same syllabus is covered elsewhere.

How to pair a question paper with the right mark scheme

Match syllabus code, year, session and component/variant. For example, a question paper labelled 0620_s24_qp_42 needs the corresponding 0620_s24_ms_42, not component 41 or an October/November mark scheme. Open both covers and confirm their printed identities before marking.

Check the session in full: February/March, May/June or October/November. Not every course is offered in every session. Also check whether the paper needs an insert, source booklet or other accompanying file. A PDF that opens successfully can still be the wrong resource.

Keep the official mark scheme distinct from a worked explanation. The mark scheme awards marks; a worked explanation teaches the reasoning between steps. Do not assume every free archive supplies both, and do not treat a solved or predicted paper as an official historical paper just because it has answers.

  • Confirm Cambridge or Edexcel before downloading.
  • Match the subject code, session, year and full component number on both documents.
  • Read route, calculator and practical instructions from the relevant current syllabus and paper.
  • Save a clearly named question-paper and mark-scheme pair, plus any required insert.
  • Use examiner reports for common marking issues where they are available.

Move from a whole paper to useful topic practice

Attempt one paper without looking at the mark scheme. Mark it, then record the question number, marks lost and the reason: missing knowledge, the wrong method, imprecise wording or a timing problem. An answer that needed a hint is still worth revisiting, even if the final line is correct.

Choose one or two repair tasks. In Maths, redo the relevant method on fresh questions. In Biology and Economics, compare the wording you wrote with what the mark scheme actually credits. In Chemistry and Physics, check units, working and the link between the calculation and the scientific explanation. For Co-ordinated Sciences, identify which science and skill caused the loss instead of calling the whole paper a weak topic.

Use a topic bank for that focused practice, then return to a mixed paper to see whether you can recognise the skill without a topic label. This is why a free archive and a topical bank complement each other. You do not need to buy a question-bank subscription merely to download and attempt a whole paper.

Provider pages were checked on 14 October 2026. This guide verifies public descriptions and representative archive pages, not every downloadable file or every syllabus year. Check the exact paper pair you intend to use.

Frequently asked questions

Which website is best for free IGCSE past papers?

For the supported Cambridge courses, PastPaperPrep offers organised whole papers and matching mark schemes without signup. Cambridge International is the official reference for syllabuses, specimens and selected papers. PapaCambridge offers broad subject-code folders, while PMT provides board-specific lists. Choose by exact board, syllabus code and paper availability rather than a universal ranking.

Can I get IGCSE papers and mark schemes without signing up?

PastPaperPrep's whole-paper archive is free without signup. Cambridge's public selection and PMT's public paper lists can also be browsed directly. Some sites add account-only conveniences; Save My Exams support says its free account permits past-paper and mark-scheme downloads. Do not confuse account-required access with paid access.

Does this guide cover Edexcel International GCSE?

The main course links in this guide are Cambridge IGCSE. PMT separates CAIE and Edexcel paper routes, so Edexcel students should choose their own board-specific option. Cambridge syllabus codes and papers are not substitutes for Edexcel resources.

Are past papers with answers the same as worked solutions?

Not necessarily. An official mark scheme gives marking points and accepted answers. A worked solution explains the reasoning in more detail. Check which kind of answer a site supplies, and keep original papers, exam-style practice and predicted papers distinct.

Are PastPaperPrep's topical questions and PDF exports also unlimited and free?

No. Whole papers are free without signup. Topical guests can practise up to 20 matching free questions; a free account opens the remaining free selection. Newer bank inventory and custom PDF exports require eligible bank access and applicable allowances. The archive and topical workflow have separate access rules.
